Experience Fredrikstad at its best during The Tall Ships Races Fredrikstad 15-18 July

When the tall ships and small ships arrive in Fredrikstad 15-18 July, the city will transform into one giant tall ships party! Enjoy open ships, good food and drink, concerts, activities and a multitude of experiences!

Main stage at The Library Park
The official Opening Ceremony of The Tall Ships Races Fredrikstad 2023 will happen on the main stage in The Library Park at 6 PM on Saturday, July 15. The evening continues with concerts on stage by Humle and by Fieh. On Sunday, July 16, there will be concerts by Oscar Danielson and Odd René & The Close Shaves. On Monday July 17, there will be concerts by Jimmy Smash, Beharie and Thomas Dybdahl. There will also be shows, activities, and concerts with young local artists on the main stage in The Library Park.

All concerts on the main stage are free and open to everyone.

Along the river, you can take in the wonderful view of tall ships and small ships on both sides of the river. Take a stroll down the river towards The Library Park, along Tollboden, and take the free ferry over to The Old Town. From The Old Town you can get back on the ferry over to Isegran. On the other side of the river (Kråkerøy), you can admire ships all the way from Isegran and down along the docks towards Værste. Several of the ships will be open to visitors.

Through the city centre, we strongly recommend The Crew Parade on Sunday July 16. The Crew Parade is a colourful procession where crewmembers represent their respective ships in a parade though the city centre. The parade will also have music from local bands, and feature Italian Teatro due Mondi.

At Isegran you can experience a maritime adventure park for children and families with activities, performances, historical walks, good food and drinks, fun and games. In the evenings, you are invited to guitar- and mandolin concerts with Italian Carlo Aaonzo and Richard del Prete.

In the Old Town there will be a unique musical experience where Trad Session offers traditional ship music in the garden of Gamlebyen kulturhus. They offer outdoor concerts on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, both in the daytime and in the evenings.

Sail Parade – When the ships are leaving Fredrikstad on Tuesday 18 July, the ramparts surrounding The Old Town offers a good viewing point.

Bad Boys BBQ, Fredrikstad Cup and Nøison offer food and drink-services, amongst others.
