Entertainment and Market at Værste

At the ferry dock in Værste, preparations are underway for Værste Market during The Tall Ships Races Fredrikstad. Here, you can experience picnics on the lawn, a large market with sales stalls, food trucks, and ice cream stands, as well as entertainment both on stage and throughout the market. -We are excited to welcome you to Værste Market during the tall ships festival and have drawn inspiration from Camden Market in London. We have great faith in the concept and look forward to showcasing it in Fredrikstad, says Cecilie Bergstrøm from Værste Market.

The market will be centrally located right by the ferry dock in Værste. Along the pier between the ferry dock and the footbridge, several ships will be moored, including the Norwegian A-class vessel, Sørlandet.

Food from all corners of the world

Around the lawn in the market area, there will be food trucks and food stalls serving delicacies from all corners of the world.

-There will be a wide selection of food, ice cream, and refreshing cold drinks, Bergstrøm explains.

-Everything can be enjoyed on a picnic blanket on the lawn or at one of the many tables scattered throughout the market. We have food and drinks for all tastes, including vegetarian and meat options, as well as plenty of treats for children, she continues enthusiastically.

A large market and fun for the little ones

At the market, you will find something for everyone. There will be both local and national merchants offering exciting products.

Asgeir Borgemoen, known from children's TV on NRK, will entertain the children from the stage in the festival tent. There will also be face painting, caricature artists, and many other exciting activities.

Magical summer evenings with entertainment in the tent

- We're kicking off the tall ships festival on Friday with a visit from the party band 'Alt for Norge.' They are bringing along some extra artists for the occasion and can entice the audience with performances by Kira (winner of this year's The Voice on TV2), the legend Eirikur, rising star Marie Bya, and their regular vocalist Bjørn Øyvind Bya. When we announced this, the response was so overwhelming that we also booked them to perform on Saturday, says Bergstrøm.

On Sunday evening, there will be a concert with Nico D, known for the hit song "Min Engel" among others.

Evening entertainment at Værste Market concludes on Monday evening with DJ CookieBite and friends. Here, you can experience a cozy club night in the tent.

Værste Market opens on Friday, 14 July, at 14:00 and is open every day during the festival from 10:00 to 24:00. On Tuesday, the area closes at 18:00.
