The ships will sail in with the beautiful archipelago in the Outer Oslo fjord as scenery, before cruising by Northern Europe's best preserved fortified town and Isegran, the home of legendary boat designer Bjarne Aas' business. Arrive in our city center, which is located along the river Glomma, with a promenade filled with restaurants, sights and bustling crowds.

The last time Fredrikstad hosted The Tall Ships Races was in 2019, with great success! Over 143 500 unique visitors took part in the celebration of the tall ships that arrived to set the scene for the biggest event in Fredrikstad. Our city was filled with culture and food from all over the world, magnificent ships along the city center promenade, and a range of different activities. Approximately 1700 trainees and crew participated in the crew party, parade and crew activities, and led Fredrikstad to win the award for having done most during the year to promote the interests of sail training for young people.

As a result of hosting in 2005, 2014, and 2019, Fredrikstad has become an experienced host port. Crew and officers can look forward to a warm and professional welcome, extensive support services provided by experienced staff, and a wide variety of available activities and events.

We hope to see you in Fredrikstad in 2023!
